Vision, Values, Ethos & Mission

A statement on our schools ethos and values.

Our school motto is ‘Work hard, love and learn,’ which are the values that St. Joseph represented as a parent of Jesus.  We aim to be like St. Joseph in all that we do.

  • We work hard and are encouraged to do our best by our friendly and caring staff.
  • We love each other by being good friends, supporting each other at all times and forgiving.
  • We learn new knowledge every day through our excellent curriculum.

Our Mission Statement

At St Joseph’s RC Primary School:

  • We create a caring environment, which is centred on the love and respect Jesus taught us.
  • We lay foundations for whole life learning to develop every aspect of our children, as individuals.

Aims of the school

  • to create a safe and loving family environment in which Gospel values are lived out.
  • to enable each member of the school community to realise his or her full potential.
  • to celebrate effort and achievement so that pupils feel equally valued and recognise their self-worth.
  • to recognise and celebrate that each child is unique.
  • to develop and encourage effective partnerships and create partnerships between home, school, parishes and the wider community.

British Values

Our school reflects British values in all that we do.

  • We encourage our children to be creative, unique, open-minded and independent individuals, respectful of themselves and of others in our school, our local community and the wider world.
  • We aim to nurture our children on their journey through life so they can grow into safe, caring, democratic, responsible and tolerant adults who make a positive difference to British Society and to the world.
