Headteacher’s Welcome

A welcome message from our headteacher.

A warm welcome to the St Joseph’s RCVA Primary School.

Our school motto is: Work hard, love and learn

With only 81 pupils St Joseph’s is the smallest primary school in Gateshead so our school really feels like a family. We work hard to create a loving, caring, Catholic environment, where our pupils feel supported, understood and valued. As well as Catholic pupils, we welcome families of all faiths and all those who are supportive of our ethos but do not have a faith affiliation.

We are a small school with big ambition for our pupils. At St. Joseph’s, we aim to get all pupils off to a flying start in the early years through the development of basic skills and a creative approach to encourage our pupils to become lifelong learners. We have very small classes in the Early Years and Key Stage One so our children get off to a flying start with lots of attention paid to their individual personalities and needs.

Our exciting curriculum builds knowledge and skills through to Year 6 and prepares our pupils for their next stage. We work very closely with our feeder school St. Thomas More and BWCET Trust to ensure that your child gets a first class education.

We are situated in an amazing building which we share with Highfield Community Primary School and Spring Nursery. Our outdoor provision is second to none with a huge adventure play area, Multi Use Games Area, field, vegetable garden and forest school. We also have wrap around care available on site with High Hopes out of school club.

We are very proud of our fantastic pupils, dedicated staff, excellent curriculum and superb building.

We welcome prospective parents to our school at any time and hold regular Open Days. Please contact our office on 01207 545972 for more details.
