Welcome

A warm welcome to the St Joseph’s RCVA Primary School.

With only 89 pupils St Joseph’s is the smallest primary school in Gateshead so our school really feels like a family. We work hard to create a loving, caring, Catholic environment, where our pupils feel supported, understood and valued. As well as Catholic pupils, we welcome families of all faiths and all those who are supportive of our ethos but do not have a faith affiliation.

Our exciting curriculum builds knowledge and skills through to Year 6 and prepares our pupils for their next stage. We work very closely with our feeder school St. Thomas More and BWCET Trust to ensure that your child gets a first class education.

Our Values

Our school motto is ‘Work hard, love and learn,’ which are the values that St. Joseph represented as a parent of Jesus. We aim to be like St. Joseph in all that we do.

  • We work hard and are encouraged to do our best by our friendly and caring staff.
  • We love each other by being good friends, supporting each other at all times and forgiving.
  • We learn new knowledge every day through our excellent curriculum.

Letters

We send out letters and newsletters on a regular basis to keep parents up to date with school decisions and progress.

At St Joseph's Highfield, we keep our parents, carers and families informed about upcoming events and celebrations of our children's successes. We regularly publish a newsletter, which is sent out electronically to all of our parents and is made available on this page. We also use Social media to share the very latest events, learning and religious celebrations that take place within our school.
